In this project we had to create a video explaining the physics of a sport that was influential to San Marin high school . The sport we chose was the physics of jumping on a mountatin bike. Over the 3 weeks on the project we filmed, edited, and posted our video. This project really opened my eyes to something that I wasn't as familiar with as I am now, and I would really love to do a project related to this in my years to come!
This project has really opened my eyes on more jobs any how some sport actually work now. Being a group of 3 students, it made the project even more challenging than it was already. Each person had to really work harder to get the job done, but at the same time it brought us together more than before. We chose mountain biking for the reasons of how cool the video would look if we did it right, and that Hunter is an exceptional mountain biker! I feel that myself as well learnt many skills in the process. For example, I never knew that I was able to be as good at mountain biking as I was. I was very shocked with myself and in the end it paid off. There were clips of me in the video! This really helped me over come some fears of mine and accomplished something new. Second, I felt that my leadership skill improved as well. When Hunter and I were at the bike park we had to get a lot done in a short amount of time and as boys, we get distracted easily! We got all the numbers needed for the calculations, and all the measurements to complete the physics part of this project. At the same time, there is still somethings I need to focus on more to even better than I did in this project. First is time management, this was definitely the most stressful part of the project. We definitely cut the time aspect very close and we need t stay on task more often. Which leads me into my second thing that I need to improve on. Staying on task, I need to do this much more often that I did during this project. I can't be getting sidetracked as easily as I was getting, and I need to focus more on my group and not so much on the other groups. All in all, this was a great learning experience that I was able to do, and with these new skills I have learnt I can't wait to see what I can do in the future!
